Hiking in Nanaimo

June 25
22 weeks

You know you're pregnant when... you not only hate to bend down to get things, but when you ARE bent down you try to figure out if there is anything else you should pick up while you are there!

This was a great week. Little PJ has been kicking lots, and I think I might have even felt some hiccups yesterday! I was out for a walk today and a lady asked me 'far along' I was. It took me a second to realize what she was asking! It was obviously my first encounter with a curious stranger... thankfully she didn't go in for a random belly rub.

I have been having terrible sciatic pain in my right hip. Today when Sheldon and I got home I was grabbing something out of the backseat of the car and I kinda got stuck in a half bent over position. I plan on trying to find a prenatal yoga video to help stretch it out!

Sheldon had Wednesday morning off so we took advantage of some gorgeous weather and did a hike in Golden Ears provincial park. I found a toad friend and Sheldon misjudged the depth of a mud puddle. It's nice that I am feeling well enough to stay so active. I am hoping I can continue to stay active and perhaps I will only gain baby, and not too much 'extra'.

The mud was deeper than he thought!

Sheldon and I went to Nanaimo to visit my parents this weekend. We did a really cool hike to see something that the locals call the 'Abyss'. It was formed by an earthquake and is literally the earth splitting. It was really nice for the two of us to get out together, the weeks can be so busy, and hiking always gives us a chance to catch up, count squirrels, and of course daydream about PJ!!!

 Feeling good on the hike

After the hike we headed back to my parents place to sit on the deck, enjoy the sun and the good company! It's times like these we wish we had more Phieffer family close to enjoy a nice sunny day with! Miss you guys, and can't wait to see you in a few weeks!!

Grandma!!!

A great weekend daydreamin' about PJ!
