Roughin' it at 31 weeks

August 27
31 weeks

You know you're pregnant when... you look forward to being able to bend over again!

A backcountry drive and we found a cool view of Harrison Lake
We had a very eventful first anniversary! We left Friday afternoon and headed just past Chilliwack to Weaver lake. Friday night the group beside us was a bit loud so we didn't sleep very well, but we enjoyed a great day on Saturday swimming A LOT! Saturday evening we went to bed and thankfully the group beside us was out at the beach, so it was nice and quiet and we quickly fell asleep. Around 12:00 I woke up to the group coming back talking about a fire on the hill, and shortly there after I heard the fire truck and the campground attendant telling us to evacuate. We packed up and headed out... got home around 2:00 in the morning. PJ was confused and obviously thought it was morning time with all the excitement, so I was super hungry and had to have a bowl of cereal before heading to bed!
Mini Golf Champ
After a crazy night we slept in and enjoyed a nice breakfast at home. Sunday was our official anniversary. We wanted to do something fun, so Sheldon suggested minigolf, and it was actually a lot of fun! We looked through a bunch of photos from the wedding and the past year, as well as read our guest book. We attempted to do our special entrance dance, but parts of it were hazy.
Happy 1st Anniversary!
Baby PJ has been doing a lot of rolling around and sticking 'his' butt out. We have made a list of things we have to have before PJ gets here. There's still a lot to get done. My parents are going to come over in a few weeks and help Sheldon paint, and after that I look forward to getting the nursery ready and feeling like I have done all I need to do. I would like to make a couple freezer meals in the next few weeks, unfortunately our freezer is quite small.

31 weeks and roughin' it
Sheldon told me yesterday he thinks PJ is a boy, but I'm still sticking to my girl instinct. We still talk about names, and I said we should really try to narrow it down soon, but perhaps it'll just come to us when the time is right.

The big 3-0!

Aug 20
30 weeks

You know you're pregnant when... a two hour nap is not unusual!

Well the week started off with a slight bump in the road. I went for a hike with my friend Michaela and returned to find my truck had been broken into... they stole my bathing suit! The damage was really bad with everything from paint and body damage, to ripping out the entire lock. The repair man said they must have been amateurs because there are much easier ways to break into a vehicle. I'm still convinced I could have spent that $600 on other areas of life, such as diapers, or anything else baby, but I've got to let it go now!
Hiking in Coquitlam

Sheldon and I ventured out for a long walk along Pitt River on Sunday. The weather had cooled down from the high 20's it was during the week, so it was perfect to get away. We can't help but talk about PJ a lot while we are doing these things together... I love it!!!

A long walk along Pitt River

Along with the many kicks and hiccups, I've had a lot of fun watching my tummy bounce and squirm around from the outside. Sheldon loves rubbing my tummy and seeing if he can get PJ to kick back. It seems when I wake up in the night to roll over or when I get up in the morning that PJ is positioned to one side. The one side of my tummy is rock hard and obviously PJ's back or butt, compared the other more squishy side.

I know when PJ actually gets here everything will amaze me, but for the time being I am having a lot of fun wondering what is going on in my tummy. I was wondering yesterday if PJ will have hair and will it be blonde? I was born with very little hair and it was extremely blonde. I kind of hope PJ has Sheldon's hair, it's wavy and a nice colour!

My Mom is coming over tomorrow and we are headed to the PNE (going to skip Playland for this pregnant mama). And then this weekend Sheldon and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary! We have only been able to get away camping once this summer, so the plan is to go camping. I am so excited to get away, I love camping and spending time with Sheldon!

Home from Ontario

August 13
29 weeks

You know you're pregnant when... you listen to random parents yelling out their kids names to see if you like the names or if their kid is really naughty to make sure to take it off the list!

29 weeks at Rick and Adele's house
We got back from Ontario Sunday morning and enjoyed a stop at the Richmond farmer's market and a PoCo river swim with Ryan and Erin!

Ontario was wonderful. We were forced to lay pretty low the first few days we arrived, first day to recover from jet lag, so we hung out in Mike and Margie's pool, and then for most of Saturday we hung out with ma and pa Phieffer at their place because it was so humid I could barely move off the couch! Sunday we visit Dean and Mandy at their campsite and had a quick dip in the lake before the thunder scared us out. Monday, Tuesday, and a bit of Wednesday was spent at Marble lake at the inlaw's summer trailer. That was a nice visit because we had 4 of the 6 neices/nephew with us. Wednesday night I was surprised with a very special baby shower! We are so lucky to have such wonderful families! Friday Sheldon and his brothers went golfing. The trip finished up Saturday in Kingston with a quick visit with Anita and Josh followed by Kylie and Kyle's wedding! Such a great trip, just have to figure out how we can get a few of them out here to meet baby PJ! Perhaps Air Canada will have a crazy seat sale next spring and PJ will get to meet his aunites and uncles! Until then pictures and skype will have to do!

I've been feeling good. Tummy is getting big, sometimes I find it hard to get around things because I can't suck it in like before! LOL! PJ was well behaved on the plane ride, kicking a fair amount on the ride home (but perhaps he/she could have still been grooving from the wedding dancing the night before)! I unfortunately was so tired from no sleep that I stayed in my seat the whole plane ride home and paid for it when my ankles and knees swelled up. Thankfully a hike with Michaela today seems to have stretched things out and it's clearing up!

Photo props at the wedding
My weight gain has evened out, thankfully my midwife was right and I seemed to have just gained a bunch at once instead of spread out (which is totally normal for some women!). I love my growing tummy and don't mind a few extra pounds, but it is hard being a woman seeing the numbers on the scale increase. So I'm always happy when people say I look great. A pregnant waitress the other day told me I looked great just before I was about to dive into my fries and lettuce wrapped burger! I couldn't help but love it!

Love you!
I think I'm feeling PJ's heel in side every now and then, it feels like a sharp point rubbing my tummy from the inside. The neices and nephew were very interested in talking about the baby while we were in Ontario. Emma was even one of the lucky ones to feel a couple kicks one night. They all have name suggestions for us, and are very curious about what it's like. I loved talking to them about it, they are so excited to meet PJ, I hope it can happen sooner than later!
